Find hairball weighing 4 kilos in Stomach

MEDICS investigating why a young girl was unable to drink a glass of water without being sick discovered a massive hairball blocking her upper digestive system.
WARNING: DISTURBING IMAGE BELOW

After an emergency operation, doctors managed to pull out the hairball weighing almost 4 kilograms, saying without emergency surgery the girl would have almost certainly died.
Ayperi Alekseeva, aged 18, had complained of severe stomach pains and was brought to the hospital in the town of Batken in south-western Kyrgyzstan’s Batken Province by her parents.
After X-rays, doctors realised there was a blockage and decided she needed an operation.
The hospital’s senior professor of surgery, Bahadir Bebezov, and his colleague, associate professor Tilek Umetaliev, said they had never heard of such a large hairball despite searching through 50 years of medical records.

Giant hairball removed from girl
Life or death ... Without emergency surgery the girl who was badly dehydrated and malnourished would almost certainly have died.

Professor Bebezov said: “The parents brought her in after she started losing weight, and she couldn’t eat anything. By the time we got her she could not even drink water. We realised we needed to operate immediately.
“It was actually the only alternative, nothing else would solve the problem. In fact her stomach was so badly swollen from hair and bits of wool from the carpet that it literally just oozed out soon as the wall of the stomach was cut.
“Psychologically apart from a habit of picking up hair from the carpet and eating it the young girl was perfectly normal and healthy. She also chewed the tips of her hair.”
He added that she had promised never to chew her hair in the future and was recovering well from the operation.

Fish with a mouth full of human teeth found in Russian river

It's the stuff of nightmares: Fish with a set of human teeth found
A fisherman recently had something to smile (or scream) about when he caught a fish that had a set of human looking teeth in it’s mouth.
Angler Aleks Korobov, 50, snared the fish on the Northern Dvina River in north-western Russia’s Arkhangelsk Oblast district, thinking it was just a normal bream.
However when he opened the mouth of his catch he saw a full set of gnashers gleaming back at him.
‘I opened its gills which were nice and red but I noticed the mouth wasn’t right for a bream and when I opened it I nearly dropped the thing in surprise,’ he said.
Aleks quickly rushed to the pub to show his friends what he had found.
Naturally they thought he had been drinking and was making it up at first, until he plopped the toothy river dweller on the table for them to witness.

Pic shows: This fish with teeth like human was caught by fish angler Aleks Korobov.nnFishy angler Aleks Korobov, 50, was brushed off by locals when he told them he had caught a fish with teeth like a human - until he plonked it on the table in front of them.nnAleks, from the city of Arkhangelsk in north-western Russia's Arkhangelsk Oblast district, had been on the Northern Dvina River when he hooked what he thought was a common bream.nnBut when he went to unhook it he saw it had a mouth full of what looked just like human gnashers.nnHe said: "It was already dead but when I picked it up and smelt it, I could tell it was fresh.nn"I then opened its gills which were nice and red but I noticed the mouth wasn¿t right for a bream and when I opened it I nearly dropped the thing in surprise.nn"Inside were a load of human teeth."nnHe then rushed back to his local pub to share his catch and to see what his fishing pals thought.nnPpal Anton Efimov, 60, said: "We know Aleks can tell some tall tales but when he came in and said he had a fish with human teeth we thought he¿d certainly been drinking.nn"But then he got it out and we were totally shocked.nn"None of us had ever seen anything like it in our lives."nnAleks then contacted the Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography for their expert opinion.nnInstitute expert Gennady Dvorykankin said: "We had to do an autopsy and carry out a series of examinations to determine the species and an explanation for the teeth.nn"We are convinced it is a member of the Piranha family, and that it is a herbivore piranha, not one of the meat eating ones you see in films.nn"It is very unlikely that it made its way from its natural tropical waters to our Arctic and then into the river so we can only assume it was dumped by an owner of exotic fish," he added.nnChuffed Aleks said: "I don¿t think people will be doubting my fishing stories again after this."nn(ends)  n     n

After bragging about his catch Aleks contacted the Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography who will carry out an autopsy on the fish to try and find out how it got its pearly whites.

10 Unexpected Optical Illusions in Photos

Nervous drivers (and their equally nervous passengers) beware! You should really prepare yourselves for the sight of Storseisundet Bridge in Norway. The road connection from the mainland Romsdal peninsula to the island of Averøya in Møre og Romsdal county doesn't look as if it actually connects as you drive towards it. In fact it looks very much as if you are in for an icy bath as you plummet off its 73ft height. However, you will be relieved to hear that this is simply something of an optical illusion. The bridge is built in such a way that from a certain angle, as you approach, it looks as it is more diving board than bridge. Known locally as the drunk bridge it forms part of the Atlanterhavsveien or Atlantic Ocean Road in English and attracts many curious visitors

This woman appears to be floating above the sand, Star Wars skiff style, an optical illusion caused by the shadow of a flag.

You'd think the fact that this camel appears to be eating a female vet would be weird enough for this picture. But apparently, according to the agency who supplied this image, it shows the animal ‘getting ready for a pedicure' in the United Arab Emirates.

This weird picture actually comes from a photo competition to mark the World Veterinary Year, used to highlight the important role vets play in the lives of people and animals across the world. It's actually an optical illusion – the vet's head is merely hidden behind the camel's cranium. The vet being eaten by a camel came top of the 2,500 global entries, and we can see why.

This tent looks as though it has been pitched in the sky in a photograph that plays tricks on the eyes. Student Bjarke Bitsch pitched his tent so high up Mont Blanc - the highest mountain in the French Alps - that snow and clouds blended together in this shot. The 24-year-old from Aarhus in Denmark took the stunning photo during a three day-expedition to climb the peak in Chamonix, France. The image was captured near the summit, at a spot called Aiguille du Gouter, which has an altitude of 12,800 feet.

Gazing sleepily into each other's eyes, it looks like the perfect friendship between boy and beast. There is, however, one barrier Harvey Evans, nine, and Kelabu the Sumatran Tiger have yet to break down.... an invisible pane of glass keeping them apart. Although Harvey appears to have got so close that he can pat the fearsome cat on the head, it is in fact an optical illusion created by a camera and a strategically placed hand.
